Jaggery, broken by hand
Bought in blocks from within eleven kilometres. The machine for this job does not exist here, so the job is done with a hammer and a low opinion of shortcuts.
Kid Man Distillery
The batch
One hundred exist. Numbered in ink, in order, by a man with a steady hand and no assistant. Number 63 is crooked. We are at peace with that.
Five things happen

Six to nine days, decided entirely by what the monsoon is doing that week. Nobody in Kannur has ever won an argument with the weather.
One run at a time, watched from a chair. The man on the label is doing exactly this. He is not a mascot and does not enjoy being described as one.
Eleven to twenty-six months in barrels that held something else first. The room is warm by ten in the morning, which does most of the work for us.
Written on the label in ink, then carried out of the shed. That is the whole distribution strategy and it has never once failed.

The range
Old Feudal's Original — the whole point. Warm, sweet, faintly smoky, entirely unsubtle. Tastes of the shed in the best possible way.
Cask No. 7 — one barrel behaved differently and we are honest people, so it got its own name. Darker, drier, more pepper than sugar.
Alakode Reserve — fifteen bottles held back for reasons that seemed important at the time. Thick, resinous, slightly medicinal. Recommended by the man who watches the still.
The matter of Kuttaparamba
The matter is settled and we will not be discussing it further on a website. Everywhere else: ask us in person. The 2026 batch is in oak.
